There are several diapering options out there to
choose from. Cloth diapers today come in very fun colors, styles and
fabric choices – even tie-die! It is sometimes difficult to know where
to begin. Here are some of the most common diapering options:
Prefold – A flat diaper that is folded
and placed into a waterproof diaper cover, replacing what diaper pins
used to do. This is the easiest and least expensive option to diaper a
baby. Please note that when purchasing prefolds, you will also need to
choose a type of diaper cover.

Fitted - Fitted diapers have a
contoured shape and are gathered around the legs. They are fastened
with either velcro or snaps. A waterproof diaper cover is necessary
when using fitted diapers.
All-In-One – Also known as AIO's,
all-in-ones are fitted diapers that have an attached outer waterproof
layer. This is not the most practical diaper option for home use, but
many families like to use AIO’s when leaving the house.
Pocket Diaper - An outer shell that is
waterproof, with a padded insert that fits inside of the pocket for
absorption.
